Mr. Stephan J. Kobos, age 72, of Beresford Street. A lifelong resident of Lawrence, died on Tuesday, May 2, 2017, peacefully at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House.

Born in Lawrence at Clover Hill Hospital on February 20, 1945, he was the son of the late John & Sophie Kobos. Stephan was educated in the Lawrence School system, he was a graduate of Lawrence High School. He was a former employee for the City of Lawrence Street & Water Departments for 31 years until his retirement. Anyone that knew him, knew that his favorite pastime was fishing, he could never get enough. He also enjoyed football, college and pro.

His late father, John S. Kobos was a retired Lawrence Police Officer. His late mother Sophie C. Kobos was a retired employee of Western Electric/Raytheon. And his late brother Alan J. Kobos was a retired employee of the Internal Revenue Service.

Stephan is survived by one son, Stephan J. Kobos of Lawrence; one granddaughter, Persephone Johanna Crosby-Kobos & her mother, Tobi J. Crosby both of South Paris, ME; his ex-wife, Christine C. Petrallia; and his little buddy, Ilsa the dog. Stephan was predeceased by his parents & his brother, Alan J. Kobos.

Relatives & friends are invited to attend visiting hours at the Diaz-Healy Funeral Home, 107 South Broadway, Lawrence on Friday, May 5, 2017 from 5 – 9 p.m. Stephan's funeral will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2017 in the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Bellevue Cemetery in Lawrence.
