Mr. Raymond Pierre Batista, age 83, of Lawrence, died on Friday, November 10, 2023 at the Lawrence General Hospital.
He was born in Barahona, Dominican Republic, he was the son of the late Israel Pierre Atenor & Altagracia Batista.
When Raymond was young he helped his parents with the family owned business. He loved to play soccer with his classmates and brothers. Raymond was also part of the military in Santo Domingo during the civil war. He was then exiled from the war and made his way to live in Puerto Rico where he met his late wife Maria Soto Pierre. After living in Puerto Rico for sometime they moved to Florida then to Lawrence,MA. Raymond loved automobiles, he owned Caribbean Auto body for several years. From then he owned Essex Street Auto-sales where he ran his shop for many years. He leaves behind his 5 children Raymond Pierre, Rose Pierre, Jenny Pierre, Reynolds Pierre, Randolph Pierre (Lucina Nolasco-mother to Randolph). He also leaves behind his: Grandchildren: Jamel Perez, Kadeem Perez, Nathan A.Baez, Raymond Pierre JR, Cherie Kitchen Pierre, Qiannah Maria Pierre Yamilex Pierre, Arlet Pierre and Great grandchildren: Khalia Perez, Naizaray, Pierre, Mia Pierre, Raylin Pierre and Zayvian Pierre. Raymond also leaves behind 3 brothers and 5 sisters and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives & friends are invited to attend visitation at the Diaz-Healy Funeral Home, 107 South Broadway, Lawrence on Friday, November 17, 2023 from 9:30 - 11 a.m. followed by a funeral service in the funeral home at 11 a.m. Interment will take place at St. Mary Cemetery in Lawrence.
