Maureen Laura Nimmo

Mrs. Maureen Laura (Wolfendon) Nimmo, age 69, of Lawrence, died on Monday, April 3, 2023 at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. She was the loving wife of Norm Nimmo, with whom she shared 27 years of marriage.

Born in Methuen, raised in Lawrence, she was the daughter of the late Robert & Irene (Bradish) Wolfendon. She attended St. Patrick School in Lawrence and was a graduate of Merrimack College, Indiana University Bloomington, & Simmons College in Boston. She worked for many years as the Library Director for the City of Lawrence. In her spare time, she loved to read, enjoy nature and eat all kinds of different foods, especially Norm’s cooking.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sisters, Carol Curran & her husband Michael, Diane Shephard and her brother, Andrew Wolfendon & his wife Karen. She was also survived by many nieces & nephews.

Relatives & friends are invited to attend visitation at the Diaz-Healy Funeral Home, 107 South Broadway, Lawrence on Thursday, April 13, 2023 from 8:30 – 10:30 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Patrick Church, 118 South Broadway, Lawrence at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in North Andover.
