Maria Castillo Obituary

Mrs. Maria Graciela “Ma-Chelita” Castillo, age 84, of Cypress, Texas, formerly of New York & San Matias, El Salvador, died of natural causes on Saturday, March 28, 2020 at her home, surrounded by her family. She was the loving wife of the late Carlos Alberto Urbina, with whom she shared about 30 years of marriage.

Born and raised in San Matias, El Salvador, she was the daughter of the late Belisario Castillo and Carmen Sibrian. Maria was the youngest of eleven children, she graduated from high school and nursing school in El Salvador, where she worked as a nurse. She was trained by doctors and nurses from the United States in El Salvador, which gave her the experience to become the manager of the healthcare clinic. A woman of faith, she would be known to many people as the Mama who cared for everyone. Maria enjoyed spending time with her family, even though she was the youngest of her siblings, she was thought to be the warrior and the pillar of the family.

Maria is survived by three sons, Fr. Carlos E. Urbina, Walter A. Urbina & his wife Erika, and Nilmo E. Urbina & his wife Laura; three grandchildren, Jonathan, Josue Alberto, and Manuel Alejandro; and two sisters, Francisca Castillo and Martina Castillo. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews & cousins. In addition to her parents, Maria was predeceased by 8 siblings.

Maria Graciela "Ma-Chelita" Castillo, de 84 años, de Cypress, Texas, anteriormente de New York y San Matías, El Salvador, murió de causas naturales el sábado 28 de marzo del 2020 en su casa, rodeada de su familia.  Era la esposa amorosa de Carlos Alberto Urbina de grata memoria, con quien compartió cerca de 30 años de matrimonio.

Nacida y criada en San Matías, El Salvador, era hija de Belisario Castillo y Carmen Sibrian tambien de grata memoria.  María era la menor de once hijos, se graduó de la escuela secundaria y la escuela de enfermería en El Salvador, donde trabajó como enfermera.  Fue entrenada por médicos y enfermeras de los Estados Unidos en El Salvador, lo que le dio la experiencia para convertirse en la encargada de la clínica de atención médica.  Una mujer de fe, sería conocida por muchas personas como la mamá que se preocupaba por todos.  A María le gustaba pasar tiempo con su familia, aunque era la menor de sus hermanos, y se convertio en la guerrera y el pilar de la familia.

 A María le sobreviven tres hijos, Padre Carlos E. Urbina, Walter A. Urbina y su esposa Erika, y Nilmo E. Urbina y su esposa Laura;  tres nietos, Jonathan, Josue Alberto y Manuel Alejandro;  y dos hermanas, Francisca Castillo y Martina Castillo.  También le sobreviven muchas sobrinas, sobrinos y primos.  Además de sus padres, María fue precedida a la vida eterna por 8 hermanos.
