Luis A. Medina

Mr. Luis Antonio Medina, age 85, of Lawrence, died on Monday, January 18, 2021 at the Lawrence General Hospital. He was the loving husband of Rafaela (Cuevas) Medina, with whom he shared 60 years of marriage.

Born and raised in La Descubierta, Dominican Republic, he was the son of the late Apolinar Feliz & Maximina Medina. Luis was a member of the police department for special operations in the Dominican Republic before he decided to move to the United States in 1978. He worked as a machine operator from Malden Mills for 30 years. Luis enjoyed watching baseball and spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife, Luis is survived by 4 children, Ana Medina & her husband Victor Martinez, Yocasta Medina, Luisa Medina Amaro & her husband Jose Amaro, and Luis Jose Medina & his wife Lucy Medina; 7 grandchildren, Marley, Luis Rafael, Michelle, Massiel, Jannelvy, Aimee, and Briana; 2 great grandchildren; 1 brother, Manuel Medina. He was also survived by many relatives in the Dominican Republic. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by 1 brother and 1 sister.

Relatives & friends are invited to attend visiting hours at the Diaz-Healy Funeral Home, 107 South Broadway, Lawrence on Thursday, January 21, 2021 from 3 – 6 p.m. Adhering to CDC and state requirements, masks and proper social distancing will be required.
