Laura Barbosa

Mrs. Laura (Benitez) Barbosa, age 83, of Lawrence, died on Friday, October 11, 2024 at the Lawrence General Hospital. She was the loving wife of Angel Barbosa, with whom she shared 57 years of marriage.

Born and raised in La Romana, Dominican Republic, she was the daughter of the late Felix & Lucia (Benitez) Campechano. A devoted homemaker, she loved to sew and cook, especially during the holidays and anytime the family would get together. She loved to travel and take vacations with her family. She also enjoyed playing cards, dominoes, bingo nights and taking trips to the casinos with her husband.

In addition to her husband, Laura is survived by one son, Angel E. Barbosa, Jr. & his wife Rosario M. Barbosa; seven grandchildren, Victoria L. Barbosa, Isabella R. Barbosa, Nanyu J. Barbosa, Manuel Gomez, Celines Barbosa, Nastasha Rossi, and Jonathan Rossi; seven great-grandchildren, Arrianna Gomez, Phoenix G. Barbosa, Jagger B. Barbosa, Brianna Daves, Marcos Kollock, Thaylia Freeman, and Cory Freeman; and two great-great-grandchildren, Camile Daves and Leylani Menina.  In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two daughters, Diomedis Rosario and Luz D. Barbosa.

Relatives & friends are invited to attend visiting hours at the Diaz-Healy Funeral Home, 107 South Broadway, Lawrence on Friday, October 18, 2024 from 4 – 7 p.m. At the family’s request, interment will be private.
