Jose “Moreno” Santos Bonilla

Mr. Jose “Moreno” Santos Bonilla, age 58, of Methuen, died on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was the devoted husband of Juana (Garcia) Santos.

Born in San Francisco de Macoris, Dominican Republic, he was the son of Maria Bonilla & the late Victor Santos. Jose worked at the Boston Globe as a maintenance worker for 14 years. He was a family oriented person, who was always able to make people smile as soon as he walked into a room. He was a very loving and caring husband, father, and grandfather that will forever be in our hearts and missed by everyone who knew him.

In addition to his wife and mother, Jose is survived by one daughter, Arlene Santos & her husband Edgar; one son, Jose Santos & his wife Ellie; and four grandchildren, Emma Santos, Ethan Santos, Allie Santos & Gabriella Santos. He was also survived by many other relatives.

Relatives & friends are invited to attend visiting hours at the Diaz-Healy Funeral Home, 107 S. Broadway, Lawrence on Friday, September 1, 2023 from 5 - 7 p.m. Jose’s funeral will begin at the funeral home at 8 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 300 Hampshire Street, Lawrence at 9 a.m. Interment will take place in Bellevue Cemetery, Lawrence.
