Ms. Irene V. Dixon, age 89, of Lawrence, passed away peacefully with her loved ones by her side on Sunday, February 9, 2025.

Born in North Andover, raised in Lawrence, she was the daughter of the late Joseph & Irene (Duffy) Dixon. A class of 1954 graduate of St. Patrick Grammar and High School and worked for over 30 years as a financial secretary. She was a devoted parishioner of St. Patrick Church and St. Michael Church. She was a member of the Our Lady Sodality of St. Patrick’s, St. Clares Women’s Group and a lifetime member of the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians Division 8. Irene was also named the Irish Woman of the Year in 1987.

Irene is survived by her foster daughter, Gail Halloran and family, along with Gail’s late brother, Dana Boucher. She was predeceased by her brother, Joseph Dixon & his wife, Helen “Patti” and survived by 2 nieces, Kelly Knight & her husband, David of Woburn, Kim Keane & her husband, Jimmy of Attleboro; 1 nephew, Joseph Dixon & his wife, Rebecca of Gorham, ME.

Visitation will be held at the Diaz-Healy Funeral Home, 107 South Broadway, Lawrence on Thursday, February 20, 2025 from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Patrick Church, 118 South Broadway, Lawrence at 11 a.m. Interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in North Andover.
