Francisca (Aguirre) Pombar

Mrs. Francisca (Aguirre) Pombar, age 92, of Haverhill, formerly of Lawrence, died on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Ernesto Pombar, with whom she shared 50 years of marriage.

Born and raised in Guayaquil, Ecuador, she was the daughter of the late Miguel Aguirre & Aide Chavez. Francisca was devoted to her family, she came to the United States in 1971, with her husband & first child, Albert, to give her family a better life. She had worked for many years as a seamstress for a shoe manufacturing company in Lawrence. In her spare time, she enjoyed singing and dancing. She was always known to look proper, she loved to dress up and have her hair and makeup done.

She is survived by 4 children, Geovanna Hamelin & her husband Keith, Albert Pombar & his wife Connie Tavares Pombar, Virginia Aguilera, Francisca Aguilera & her husband Angel Villota; daughter-in-law, Teresa Aguilera; 17 grandchildren, Fernando, Jessy, Zenaida, Elsy, Joel, Patricia, Leo, Carolina, Oscar, Gabriel, Keith, Geovanna, Christopher, Alexander, Fernando, Alex, and AJ; and many great-grandchildren. She was also predeceased by her son, Fernando Aguilera.

Relatives & friends are invited to attend visiting hours at the Diaz-Healy Funeral Home, 107 South Broadway, Lawrence on Sunday, December 22, 2024 from 3 – 7 p.m. Francisca’s funeral will be held in the funeral home on Monday, December 23, 2024 at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery in Lawrence.
