Mr. Francis J. “Frank” Phillips, 79, died on Sunday, February 5, 2017 at the Lawrence General Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Diane E. (Margerison) Phillips, with whom he shared 40 years of marriage.

Born and raised in Lawrence, Frank was a graduate of Lawrence High School with the class of 1951. He proudly served his country in the United States Army for seven years. Frank was an employee of Frank C. Meyers for over 40 years. Mr. Phillips enjoyed bowling at Park Place Bowling and he also enjoyed playing cards at the British Club. He was an avid fan of the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox. Frank was a lifelong communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church of Lawrence, as well as an altar server for many years.

In addition to his wife, Frank is survived by five children, Karen Phillips, Robert Phillips, Robert Wheeler & his wife Marge, Wendy Lightfoot & her husband Charles and Tammy Tanguay & her friend Peter; one sister, Mary Monahan & her husband James; 14 grandchildren; 1 grand-daughter in-law, Sharon Walsh; 6 great grandchildren; and he is also survived by many nieces, nephews & close friends. Frank was predeceased by two sisters, Joan Stevenson & Ann Quarrell.

At the family’s request, funeral services will be private.
