Florencio D. Cuevas

Florencio Damian Cuevas (Bill Rey)  a current resident of Andover, Ma. and long time resident of Lawrence, suddenly passed away last Sunday, May 16. Bill was born in San Cristobal, Dominican Republic on March 23,1957 his parents were Bienvenido Cuevas and Juana B. Vizcaino. He was most known for his unforgettable smile and personality and breath-taking voice. Bill was part of the merengue group La Gran Familia, sang along Benny Sadel, and sang for artists like Luis Enrique and Manny Manuel. He was a favorite performer for local and out of state festivals. He will be remembered for his performances at family gatherings and in the lobby of his resident complex. Bill will be missed by his daughter Shantell Rubi Cuevas, sister Martha and her children Deidy and Julio who reside locally, and his siblings who reside in the Dominican Republic, Sara, Rafael, Melody, Alberto. He will be dearly missed by Marta Vega and her family, and friends who became family Mayi & Eunice, Leo, Damaso, Herberto and the Javier family. He will truly be missed by many as he left a mark in many dear hearts. 

Relatives & friends are invited to attend visiting hours at the Diaz-Healy Funeral Home, 107 S. Broadway, Lawrence on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 from 4 -7 p.m. At the family's request, interment will be private.
