Evelyn Porter, age 69, of North Andover, MA, formerly of Lawrence, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Thursday, June 20, 2024 at the Lawrence General Hospital.
Born on September 4,1954 in Loon Lake, New York, she was the daughter of the late Leo C.Porter and Alice Porter. Evelyn enjoyed taking trips to Foxwoods Casino and playing bingo. She was always known to be cheering on Boston sports teams and watching her favorite game shows. She also had a passion for oldies music, and had a great love for Betty Boop. Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren, whom she adored greatly.
Evelyn is survived by two sons, Joey Porter & his wife Amy Porter and John Deforest all of Lawrence; six grandchildren, Joey Jr., Albany, Jerzee, Robin, Jessica, and Johnny; two brothers, Donald Porter and Paul Porter both of Vermont. She was also survived by her great grandchildren, and many nieces & nephews. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her husband, Patrick DeForest; two sons, Christopher Porter and David Porter; her sister and best friend, Kathleen Porter; and her twin brother, Edward Porter.
The Porter family would like to thank the doctors and nurses in the ICU and H-4 at Lawrence General Hospital for their compassion and the exceptional care they provided to Evelyn and her family.
A celebration of Evelyn’s life will be announced at a later date.
