Mrs. Arelis Del Carmen Bare, age 63, of Lawrence, died on Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at the Mary Immaculate Nursing Home in Lawrence, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Santiago, Dominican Republic, she was the daughter of the late Rafael Antonio Tice & Maria Mercedes Fernandez Garcia. She had an unmatched work ethic, a true Renaissance women, she held many jobs including a lunch lady, hairstylist, notary public, travel, insurance and tax agent. She enjoyed watching soap operas from the middle east, chihuahua movies (she secretly wanted a dog!)and spending time with her grandchildren. She was known for being the center of attention at a party, showing off her famous "motorcycle dance" move. Most of all, Arelis loved her family and friends, especially her children, grandkids and other people’s children. She would often give more of herself than she could and always had a smile on her face. She thrived around family and friends, and her friends always became her family. That is her superpower and she will be deeply missed.
Arelis is survived by three daughters, Yadira Mercedes Santana & her husband Jhannior Santana, Wilma Mercedes Docanto & her husband Moises Docanto, and Noelia Guadalupe Mobley & her husband Christopher Jarrett Mobley; five grandchildren, Jhannior Santana, Jhasmer Santana, Alannie Sky Docanto, Damyien Avelino Docanto, and Kayllum Pryce Docanto; three sisters, Ana Casado, Cynthia Tice, and Margarita Arias. She is also survived by many nieces & nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by one brother, Juan Fernandez.
Relatives & friends are invited to attend visiting hours at the Diaz-Healy Funeral Home, 107 South Broadway, Lawrence on Sunday, June 30, 2024 from 3 – 6 p.m. On Monday, July 1, 2024, Arelis’s funeral will begin at the funeral home at 10 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Patrick Church, 118 South Broadway, Lawrence at 11 a.m. Entombment will take place at St. Mary Mausoleum in Lawrence.
