Mrs. Rita C. Solomon Coban, age 74, of Utila, Honduras, died peacefully on Monday, June 19th, 2017 at Eliot Hospital in Manchester, New Hampshire, surrounded by her loving and caring family.  She was the devoted wife of husband Austin Solomon of 55 years.  Born in Sandy Bay, Utila, Rita was the 5th child out of eleven siblings.  While in Utila, she dedicated her life to her two loving children, Austin Ben and Ernest Austin, while taking charge of the household while her husband worked as a Captain on the boats.  Upon her children’s graduation from High School Rita and Austin moved the family to New York in search of a better life.  They lived in Brooklyn, New York for approximately 20 years before retiring back to Honduras with the love of her life, Austin Solomon.

In addition to her husband, Rita is survived by her two children, Austin Ben and Ernest Austin; four step-children, Francis Santos, Kent Solomon, Birdic Solomon, Marjan Solomon; 6 sisters, Rosalin, Valeria Ann, Ena James, Flora Tittley, Maggie White and Martha Coban, one brother Andrew Coban; and a host of sisters and brothers-in-law; five grandchildren; Roy Solomon, Austin Solomon, Kiana Solomon, Siara Solomon; one great-grandchild, Harmony Solomon and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.  One sister, two brothers and her parents predeceased Rita.

Relatives & friends are invited to attend visiting hours at the Diaz-Healy Funeral Home, 107 South Broadway, Lawrence on Thursday, June 22, 2017 from 4 - 7 p.m. Rita's funeral service will be held during visitation, beginning at 6 p.m. Interment will take place at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Utila, Honduras.
