Mr. Miguel D. Queliz, age 70, of Lawrence, died unexpectedly on Sunday, August 6, 2017 at the Lawrence General Hospital. He was the loving husband of Aura (Abud) Queliz, with whom he shared 39 years of marriage.

Born and raised in Constanza, Dominican Republic, he was the son of the Danario Queliz & Luisa Garcia. Miguel was employed for several years at the Internal Revenue Service. He was a very generous man, who loved to help others, he volunteered at Lawrence General Hospital and in the Bursar's Office at Northern Essex Community College. In his spare time, Miguel enjoyed playing instruments and listening to music, he would also enjoy watching any of the Boston Sports Teams. He was a very family oriented person, who loved to spend time with his family, he always looked forward to being with his loving grandchildren. Miguel was also a devoted parishioner at St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Lawrence. He was a great man, that will be missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his wife, Miguel is survived by four sons, Elvis Queliz & his wife Marilyn Raices-Queliz, Miguel A. Queliz & his wife Melissa Queliz; Luis Queliz and Edgar Querliz & his wife Claribel Catalina; four grandchildren, Melania Queliz, Giani Queliz, Giancarlos Queliz and Lizmarie Queliz; one brother, Jose Ramon Queliz; two sisters, Virtudes Cabrera and Mercedes Arias. He was also survived by many nieces & nephews. Miguel was predeceased by 5 siblings.

Relatives & friends are invited to attend visiting hours at the Diaz-Healy Funeral Home, 107 South Broadway, Lawrence on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 from 4 - 8 p.m. On Thursday, August 10, 2017, Miguel's funeral will begin at the funeral home at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 300 Haverhill & Hampshire Streets, Lawrence at 10 a.m. Interment will take place at St. Mary Cemetery in Lawrence.
