Mrs. Laureana (Jimenez) Valdez, age 90, of Lawrence, died on Thursday, August 11, 2016 at Lawrence General Hospital. She was the wife of the late Justino Eladio Valdez. 

Born on November 2, 1925 in Navarrete, Dominican Republic, she was the daughter of the late Jose Eugenio Reyes and Emerita Jimenez.  Laureana was an active parishioner at St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Lawrence. She enjoyed going to adult day care for the last several years at Mary Immaculate.

Laureana is survived by four sons, Alberto Jimenez, Alfredo Jimenez, Jose Luis Valdez & Reynaldo Valdez; two daughters, Lourdes Valdez & Nidia Valdez; 21 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Juanito Jimenez & Jose Jimenez; and 1 sister, Casilda Jimenez. Laurena was pre deceased by her brother, Eugenio Jimenez.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours at the Diaz-Healy Funeral Home, 107 South Broadway, Lawrence on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 from 4 - 8 p.m. A funeral from the funeral home on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 300 Haverhill & Hampshire Streets, Lawrence at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery in Lawrence.
