Mrs. Emilia Peña Viuda Montes De Oca, age 82, of Lawrence, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at Lawrence General Hospital. She was the loving wife of the late Angel Maria Montes De Oca, with whom she shared 25 years of marriage, before he had passed away.

Born and raised in Barahona, Dominican Republic, Emilia was the daughter of the late Fidel Peña and Felicita Santana.

Emilia is survived by seven children, Manuel Emilio Montes De Oca Peña, Sonia Ivelisse Montes De Oca Peña, Maria Altagracia Montes De Oca De Velasquez, Miguelina Montes De Oca De Ramirez, Rosa Emilia Montes De Oca Peña, Luis Eduardo Montes De Oca Peña & Angela Montes De Oca Peña; 23 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; and 1 great great granddaughter. In addition to her husband & parents, Emilia was also predeceased by her son, Angel Maria Montes De Oca Peña.

Relatives & friends are invited to attend visiting hours at the Diaz-Healy Funeral Home, 107 South Broadway, Lawrence on Sunday, October 2nd from 3 - 6 p.m. On Monday, October 3rd, Emilia's funeral will begin at the Diaz-Healy Funeral Home at 9 a.m., followed by a funeral mass at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 300 Haverhill & Hampshire Streets, Lawrence at 10 a.m. Interment will take place at St. Mary Cemetery in Lawrence.
